The editor of the Herald of Vermont, M. Dickey Drysdale, calls the event: "A quintessential Vermont celebration." It is certainly an event for Vermonters. Most of the cars in the parking areas adjoining the Expo usually bear VT plates. But even if you are "from away" as they say here, you'll find things low key, less buzzy and more thoughtful than your average expo elsewhere. If you are any kind of history buff or interested in geneology, this Expo is worth a visit. And even if it rains, there are enough exhibits under tents that you will not be disapointed.
